Art and Sciences

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences came into being in 1997, when it was made up of the Department of English Language and Literature and the Department of Mathematics and Computing. In 2006 the Department of Translation and Interpretation (English) was added. The language of instruction in our faculty is English.

With their carefully designed courses, our experienced academic staff offer theoretical and applied education in lecture rooms and laboratories. Our faculty's overall aim is to teach students to reason independently and critically, to do research, to make sound judgements on the basis of research, and to think creatively.

The departments offer students the opportunity to learn more than one discipline by attending courses in other departments (excluding Law) to obtain double major or minor degrees.

The departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences provide graduate programs in their respective fields. Some of our staff members offer foundation courses in other faculties of the university as well as in the Vocational Training School.
