ECON 101 Introduction to Economics I (303)
A general view of economic problems; theories of supply and demand; elasticity, marginal analysis of consumer and firm's behaviour; factor markets; pricing in competitive and non-competitive markets.

ECON 102 Introduction to Economics II (303)
Determination of national income; changes in output and employment; money, banking system; problems of inflation and unemployment; growth and development; international trade.

MATH 105 Business Mathematics (4 0 4 )
Functions and graphs; linear functions and straight lines; polynomials; exponential and logarithmic functions; simple interest; compound interest; effective rates; future value; present value; amortisation and annuities; limit; derivative; marginal analysis in economics; optimisation.

CENG 117 Introduction to Computers +Lab (2 2 3)
Literacy on computers, data and information processing, hardware and software organisation and programming concepts; basic elements of data processing files; windows environment; fundamentals of word-processing and spread-sheet tools; hands on exercise on widely used application packages.

MAN 102 Introduction to Management (3 0 3)
The basic concepts and principles of management; the functions of planning, organising, staffing, directing, controlling, as related to management practices, i.e., leadership, motivation, communication and representation. Management of an enterprise in a modern environment.

MAN 116 Principles of Accounting (2 2 3)
Focus on concepts and principles of financial accounting; issues of financial and management accounting, accounting cycle, transactions, principles of bookkeeping, balance-sheet, income statement, trial balances, adjustment, financial flow, inventory, income measurement, financial data for business decision making.

ITM 104 Introduction to Foreign Trade (3 0 3 )
Discussing the foreign trade strategy of Turkey; structure of export and import financing; Studying the principles of financial instruments (factoring, leasing and forfeiting); The encouragement policy of exports and export incentives (monetary, economic and financial incentives, government subsidies, etc.). Also, Export Credit Bank of Turkey’s short term credit and insurance/ guarantee programs; Examining the legislation (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) of Free Trade Zones, Inward and Outward Processing Traffics and Border Trade; focus on the status of foreign trade corporate and sectoral foreign trade companies, surveillance companies and laboratories; collaborating associations in foreign trade operations (Undersecretariates of Foreign Trade, Treasury and Customs, Unions of Exporters and Importers, chambers of commerce and industry, commercial banks, etc.)

ITM123 Business Communication (3 0 3)
To improve competence to reach others through the spoken and written word for the type of writing and speaking skills that will be expected during the business career.

LAW 106 Introduction to Law (3 0 3)
An elementary study of some legal problems involved in business covering the following subjects: merchants, their rights and obligations; contract agency; sales; employment; contract; partnership; cooperation.

MAN 207 Business Finance (3 0 3)
Financial analysis planning and control ratio analysis, project planning and financial forecasting, capital budgeting, decision of short term and long term, financing working capital management, financial policies regarding the acquisition of funds and their allocations to competing assets within the firm.

MAN 223 Principles of Marketing (3 0 3)
Focus on historical overview of marketing concepts, characteristics of consumers and domestic and international markets, marketing mix, marketing channels, promotion, target markets, product planning.

INTT 203 Foreign Trade Formalities and Practices (3 0 3)
Basics of sales agreements for international sales of goods; ways of avoiding or controlling risks in global trade; methods of settling trade disputes; analysis of terms of delivery under the rules of the Turkish Commercial Law and International Chamber of Commerce’s universally accepted Incoterms; the framework of the Turkish foreign trade legislation (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) ; presentation and interpretation of the regimes of exports, imports and standardization; commercial and official documents used in international trade.

STAT 203 Statistics (3 0 3)
The scope of statistics; presentation and analysis of data; summary and elements of exploratory data analysis; probability and rules; random variables, distributions; some probability distributions; binomial, poisson, hypergeometric, normal,l and exponential distributions; sampling distributions; central limit theorem; the law of large numbers. T, F,; chi-square distributions; estimation methods.

ITM 218 Financing and Institutions of Foreign Trade in Turkey (3 0 3)
Definition of foreign exchange (rates, formation, quotation, transfer, etc.); Ways of foreign exchange dealings (arbitrage, spot, forward, swap and option); Basics of terms of payment (counter trade, clean payment, cash on delivery, documentary collection, acceptance credit and letter of credit, etc.); Presentation and interpretation of the Turkish Currency Legislation (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) and studying circular letters pertaining to foreign trade of the Central Bank of Turkey; Financial documents (bill of exchange/draft, promissory note, trust receipt, etc.) used in international trade.

ITM 204 The Turkish Custom Regime and International Transportation (3 0 3)
An overall description of regional integration agreements, Customs Union, free trade agreements and biletaral trade agreements; the framework of the Turkish Customs Legislation (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) ; presentation and interpretation of the Turkish Customs Regime, customs procedures specially for exports and imports; focus on international conventions for transportation (Brussels Convention, rules of La Haye/Wisby and Hamburg, CMR,CIM, TIR, IATA, ATA, etc.) and international rules for transportation (contracts, liabilities of parties) and systems of packing, loading, shipping and unloading; basics of cargo insurance; transportation and insurance documents used in international trade.

ITM 226 International Financial Markets and Institutions (3 0 3)
Introduction to international financial system: bretton Woods system,the fundamental parity conditions in international finance and currency financing; managing the multinational financial system; markets for foreign exchange; interaction between money and capital markets.

MAN 204 International Marketing (3 0 3)
Analysis of the nature of international marketing; development of international marketing over time; product development and policies; distribution; contemporary issues in international marketing; world markets opportunities, distinctive characteristics, alternative strategies, and emerging trends; modification of marketing thinking and practices in the face of environmental differences; social, cultural, political and economic problems of Turkish enterprises in foreign marketing.
