MAN 501 Managerial Economics (3 0 3)
The nature and scope of managerial economics; introduction to maximization and optimization; decision analysis under risk and uncertainty; competition, strategic decision and transaction costs; business objectives; forecasting, demand theory, techniques for demand estimation; cost theory and measurement; linear programming; various types of pricing, pricing in regulated industries, advertising decision, capital budgeting, public policy and regulation of business; decision evaluation, profits and control; capital budgeting, and investment decisions.

MAN 503 Management: Principles and Systems (3 0 3)
Basic concepts and philosophy of management; motivation theories, motivational techniques, management styles, management schools of thought, scientific management, decision making, responsibility and accountability, control mechanism; corporate culture, management systems, analysis, design and implementation, comparative management thoughts; the Turkish case.

MAN 505 Accounting for Business Decisions (3 0 3)
Accounting principles and procedures for decision making; bookkeeping, double entry recording procedures, journalising, posting to ledger, financial statements and reports, perpetual and periodic inventory methods, adjustments, trial balances, post trial balance, balance sheet, income statement preparations and analyses, financial and ratio analysis; survey of management accounting; cost systems; ABC, other costing methods, full cost, marginal cost, standard cost, responsibility accounting; capital budgeting, programming.

MAN 511 Marketing Management (3 0 3)
The role of marketing in organizations and society; marketing-function, marketing mix; four P's; marketing strategy; customer analysis, market segmentation and product differentiation; competitive analysis and product positioning; measuring and forecasting market opportunities; product development and testing product and brand management; service marketing; international marketing, pricing, selecting and managing distribution channels, personal selling and sales force management; direct marketing, designing advertising programs, sales promotion and public relations; marketing planning, policies, and implementation.

MAN 513 Financial Management (3 0 3)
Financing functions and roles, changing and increasing importance of business finance; flow of funds; domestic and international financial markets; essential tools and concepts in managerial finance; financial analysis, planning, and control; securities, working capital, capital budget, cost of capital, interest, debt financing, leverage, stock financing, short-term and long-term financing, dividend policy, financial strategies and policies, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures.

MAN 515 Production and Operations Management (3 0 3)
Domestic and global production and operations function; production systems and types; goods, services, and idea productions, operations design, plan, policies, and control; forecasting demand, capacity planning; overview of material management; inventory control, JIT, total quality control tools and management; facility location; layout of facilities; design and management for innovation and technological advantages; methods study, time and motion analysis, job design, work measurement and compensation.

MAN 519 Quantitative Analyses for Business Decisions (3 0 3)
Quantitative approaches to management, deterministic and stochastic analyses and models for business decisions, survey of probability concepts, conditional probability, Bayes's theorem, distributions, central tendency and variations measures, sampling concepts, experimental statistics, statistical decision making, Bayesian decision making; Time series analysis; forecasting, operations research, linear programming , Integer programming , waiting lines, Markov analysis.

MAN 520 Human Resources Development (3 0 3)
Surveys at an advanced level the HR field and its major components: EEOC regulations, job and work design, HR planning, recruitment and selection of employees, training and development, appraisal methods, the compensation process, benefits, collective bargaining and regulations, safety and health, and international human resources.

MAN 522 Financial Markets and Institutions (3 0 3)
An examination of participants, relationships and institutions and markets for all types of secretions. Analysis of financial intermediaries flow of funds, determinants of inverts rates, instruments financial markets.

MAN 524 Strategic Management (3 0 3)
Covers the theory and practice of developing and implementing strategies for gaining competitive advantage in the global business environment. The student will master the theoretical body of knowledge in the field of strategic management and consider a variety of empirical approaches used to research the competitive strategy process. Student will also explore the accelerating globalization of industries, regionalization of competition and the institutional contexts that both facilitate and impede the formation and implementation of strategies globally. Topics include emerging issues such as organizational change, competitive dynamics, development of firm resources and capabilities, sustainable competitive advantage, regional approaches to competitive strategy and formation of new organizational form such as strategic alliances and inter firm networks.

MAN 526 Contemporary Management Techniques (3 0 3)
An examination of new advancements in management theory and practice such as postmodern philosophy in management thought, globalization, emerging organizational forms based on lean production, network and information technology. Topics also include how managers promote organizational change and development, innovation management, learning organizations and how to apply emerging management techniques such as reengineering, downsizing, zero hierarchy, outsourcing, benchmarking, Keisen, team management, performance based evaluation, balanced score cards, self managed teams, crisis management, etc.

MAN 527 Research Methods for Business (3 0 3)
The nature and scope of business research, scientific research methodology in practice, survey and sampling techniques, marketing research process, research design and implementation, data collection, secondary and exploratory research, descriptive research, causal research, sampling, data analysis, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression analysis, discriminant and canonical analysis, factor and cluster analysis, multi-dimensional scaling, correspondence analysis and conjoint analysis, presenting the results, research report writing.

MAN 530 Project Development and Management (3 0 3)
The concept, techniques, tools and processes of project management. Project selection. Project planning, organization and controlling. Budgeting and cost elimination. Scheduling. Resource allocation. Monitoring and information systems. Project auditing and termination.

MAN 532 Business Forecasting (3 0 3)
Time series, Forecasting using Regression models. Stationery Time- Series Models. Modelling Business Time Series: Trend and Volatility. Testing for Trends and Unit Roots. Multiequation Time Series Models.

MAN 534 Marketing Research and Applications (3 0 3)

Historical perspective of management science, Operations Research study, problem solving, static and sequential decision making, scientific method, linear programming formulation and solution of linear programming problem, the graphical, algebraic, simplex methods, duality, parametric and sensitivity analysis, transportation, assignment problems and solutions, network analysis, integer programming, nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, waiting lines, inventory, Markov process, simulations, applications in business.

MAN 588 Seminar
Domestic and International strategic and contemporary business issues and topics selected for the treatment in a case and seminar format, directed and conducted under the responsibility and supervision of the teaching staff.

MAN 590 Term Project (3 0 3)
An independent study under the supervision of a faculty member. The knowledge and techniques (quantitative and qualitative) learned in the course of MSc/MBA program ise integrated in the topic selected.

MAN 599 Directed Independent Research: Thesis
Directed independent research-based study, analysis, and findings leading to a written paper; the thesis will be supervised by the adviser assigned by the chairman of the department.
