This course will basicly examine production and cost topics in short
and long runs and will focus on pricing in competitive and
oligopolistic markets in an increasingly globalizing world.
INTT 502 ADVANCED MACROECONOMIC STUDIES (3 0 3)
This course will deal with inflation, unemployment and economic
growth problems and appropriate economic policies that might be
pursued to tackle with them in a national as well as international
setting with special reference to Turkey.
INTT 504 INTERNATIONAL TRADE THEORY AND POLICY (3

This course examines economies of scale and market structure in
international trade, international factor movements, relationship
between trade and development and contemporary instruments of
international trade policy with special reference to WTO rules.
INTT 505 MARKETING (3 0 3)
This course examines marketing philosophies, strategic planning,
managing marketing information, marketing mix strategies, market
segmentation, service marketing and competitor analysis.
INTT 506 INTERNATIONAL FINANCE (3 0 3)
The course reviews the history and the future prospects of the
internatinonal financial system and investigates the markets for
foreign exchange, international bonds, eurodollar and eurocurrency.
The determination of the foreign exchange rates and the fundamental
international parity conditions as well as the behavior of flexible
exchange rate systems will be covered in detail.
INTT 507 CORPORATE FINANCE (3 0 3)
This course examines the foundations of the theory of finance
through the examinations of the fundamental concepts in financial
management, specifically risk and rates of return, bond and stock
valuation, capital budgeting and financing decisions.
INTT 508 INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL
INSTITUTIONS (3 0 3)
This course examines the structures and operations of such
international commercial and financial institutions as the WTO, IMF,
World Bank, BIS, EBRD, etc., with an emphasis on their role of
restoring external balance and promating economic development in
individual countries with which they enter into relations in the
form of formulating economic policies and providing financial
resources.
INTT 509 COMPETITION LAW ANTI-TRUST APPLICATIONS

This course examines the competition law systems of Turkey, European
Union and United States of America and evaluates the competition
restricting applications. The course is designed to provide a
practical perspective for International Trade students.
INTT 510 INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS (3 0 3)
This course reviews globalization, national differences in political
economy, foreign direct investment, exporting importing and
countertrade analyzing international opportunities, planning and
organizing international operations and global human resource
management.
INTT 511 TRANSPORTATION AND CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
APPLICATIONS (3 0 3)
This course reviews international delivery terms (Incoterms) and
transportation; inspection of the goods; the obligation to clear the
goods for import and export; proof of delivery and transport
documents; insurance of the goods; customs valuation and tariffs and
Turkish customs law.
INTT 512 INTERNATIONAL MARKETING (3 0 3)
This course examines nature of international marketing, political,
legal, cultural environment, marketing research, market analysis and
foreign market entry strategies, product, price, distribution and
promotion strategies.
INTT 513 INTERNATIONAL CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS (3 0

This course reviews the role of arbitration in international
transactions and examines integration of functional, environmental
and institutional contexts facing negotiators internationally.
INTT 514 INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRANSACTIONS AND

This course orientation includes foreign trade export/import
implementations; international trade financing and documentary
credits; international trade documents; international sales
contracts; e-commerce applications and Turkish foreign trade regime.
INTT 515 INTERNATIONAL BANKING (3 0 3)
This course examines the international financial intermediaries and
the international banking system. It surveys the historical
evolution and foundation as well as the recent developments and the
crashes of international banking. Financial crisis, international
commercial and investment banking, their planning and management,
and the regulatory environment will also be discussed.
INTT 516 RISK MANAGEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL
FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS (3 0 3)
The course focuses on managing the foreign exchange risk and
exposure within a framework of the theory and the practical
applications. Hedging techniques as well as the pricing and the risk
characteristics of the derivate instruments such as currency
futures, currency options and swap transactions wil be examined.
Interest rate exposure and hedging against it will also be covered.
INTT 517 GAME THEORY: STRATEGIC TRADE POLICY (3 0

This course examines noncooperative games in extensive and strategic
forms, solution concepts such as Nash equilibrium, subgame perfect
equilibrium, and sequential equilibrium, cooperation and reputation,
bargaining, and analysis of tariffs, quotas, export subsidies and
tariff negotiations in game-theoretic approach.
INTT 518 INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (3 0

The course is designed to emphasize the cross-border applications of
financing, valuation and investment decisions through adjustments to
cost of capital and projected cash flows reflecting the unique
nature of international opportunities, capital structure and debt
policy issues and working capital management.
INTT 519 EUROPEAN UNION COMMERCIAL POLICY AND
TURKEY (3 0 3)
This course, after giving an account of the EU common commercial
policy, will concentrate on various measures taken by Turkey with a
critical assessment of the results together with proposals to solve
the existing problems.
INTT 520 SPECIAL TOPICS (3 0 3)
This course provides an in-depth analysis of current work issues,
selected topics, specific problems, or geographic areas of
prominence in international business.
INTT 521 INTERNATIONAL PROJECT FINANCE (3 0 3)
This course examines international project finance which is limited
recourse or non-recourse in nature. International project finance is
the major financing mode for large and revenue producing projects as
it is based on a set of assets is capable of functioning profitably
as an independent economic unit. This course equips the participants
to understand and to take a part in international project financing
transactions. In this respect, topics such as financial modeling and
project evaluation, discounted cash flow analysis, international
project risks, security arrangements and international project
documentation are covered.
